A discovery flight is a hands-on introductory flight lesson. You'll fly a training airplane from the pilot's seat with the guidance of an instructor.
The lesson begins with a preflight inspection where you'll learn about the airplane's main parts and controls.
When it's time to fly, you'll help start the engine and taxi to the runway. The instructor will take off, climb, and show you how to fly level and make turns. You'll be able to take the controls and fly the airplane around the local area. When it's time to return, the instructor will do the landing.
The discovery flight is a real flight lesson that you can record in a logbook. It counts toward the flight time requirements for becoming a pilot.
During the experience, you'll be able to ask questions and find out more about how to become a pilot. Your discovery flight could be the beginning of a lifelong passion!
