10/11/04 New Job at the Airport - David Flying Service at the Dubuque Regional Airport hired me today. It's the aircraft maintenance facility. I'll be working there part-time to supplement my other part-time job of tutoring. I'm glad to be working with airplanes again! 10/13/04 CFI Training So Far - My flight instructor training is going well. The past few weeks have been very busy for me. I took my first lesson from the right seat of the Trinidad. It only took a few sloppy landings to realize this transition would be harder than I thought! I took my next two lessons in the 172, which was a little easier for me. I'm either flying, presenting a ground lesson to my instructor, or working on a new lesson plan every day of the week. 10/25/04 Planes and Politics - With Iowa's electoral votes up for grabs in the upcoming presidential election, the candidates are making plenty of stops in the state. Today, vice presidential candidate John Edwards flew into Dubuque on a 727 painted with an American flag scheme. Meanwhile, a C-17 dropped off some cargo for President Bush's visit scheduled for tomorrow.
