5/1/05 CALIFORNIA!!! - I got to fly in what must be paradise. Today I had the privilege of seeing the entire northern California coast from the window of a Cirrus SR22, plus plenty of mountains inland on the way back. I've got lots of awesome pictures. For now, here is one of my favorites:

5/2/05 Oakland to Chicago - My return flight on Southwest Airlines today was uneventful. Overall, I was happy with the airline on both my departure and return trips. Unlike with my trip to Europe, everything was on time or early, and I had no hassles at either airport. It was worth the extra driving and the bus rides I needed to take. The price was right! I'd definitely fly on Southwest again. I liked that I got a window seat both ways. On the way back today, I got to see a lot of mountains.

5/3/05 George Washington Roadblock - Ideally I'd have my instrument flight instructor rating (CFII) already, but I haven't been able to start training for it. I've dug into the pockets of all my pants and can only find a few pennies and nickels! The only thing that stands between me and my degree is that CFII rating and a few thousand dollars. I've come so far and now I'm stuck. I might have to get creative.

5/10/05 Job Hunting - I'm looking for a job as a flight instructor. The University of Dubuque doesn't have work for me, so I'm going to have to move. It will be exciting to start something new.
