12/3/04 Spin Training - Round and round she goes, where she'll stop, nobody knows!
Spin training is required for the flight instructor rating. I had never done spins before. I was very scared - after all, a window full of ground and descending in a tight corkscrew didn't sound fun to me. I went up in UD's Cessna 152 with my instructor. I sat in the right seat. My instructor demonstrated recovering from a spin entry and then a full spin. The first time I tried putting the plane into a spin, I recovered very soon into the entry because I didn't like it at all. Then I gathered up some courage to do the entry phase plus one complete 360-degree turn. I did that twice and was proud! It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. It was definitely exciting.
