08/03/02 Bummed - What a wasted week. I'm so sick that I can't open my eyes in the sunshine. I saw a doctor for the third time today. I've been dying to go flying. I was planning to fly up north today to enjoy at least two days of my annual week-long family vacation before I go back to work on Monday. Hopefully I'll make it up there later in the week. I missed three days of work last week and overall I'm pretty frustrated!

08/07/02 Air, Sweet Air - I am well enough to fly again! Today I got to do half an hour of "spying" in the Flightstar. I love this low and slow stuff where I can see the details of everything on the ground! I couldn't get enough flying today (the weather was gorgeous) so I called my newly-licensed pilot friend and went flying with her tonight. After sunset we flew for 45 minutes in a Cessna 150.

08/08/02 I'm Going to be in a Magazine - This morning I was interviewed for an article in EAA's Sport Aviation magazine. Look for me in the October or November issue.

08/10/02 Cloud Nine - Things are going great. Although my internship was supposed to end Friday, I was told I'm welcome to work as much as I want the next two weeks and still get paid. I've also got a lot of flights that are supposed to take place before I go back to school and I'm looking forward to them.

08/14/02 Labor of Love - Today I visited my old workplace intending to spend a few minutes saying hi to everyone. Instead I ended up spending two hours there voluntarily cleaning six months' worth of dirt off the beloved Cessna 150 that I fly! The plane had been moved into the Airtronics hangar for the finishing touches of some engine maintenance. After seeing how much dust had collected on it, I couldn't resist getting out the bucket and towels. Little Spunky should be airworthy very soon and I want it to look nice when I fly it again. I can't wait-- I've been missing it a lot since I last flew it in December.

08/26/02 Back to School - I had two free weeks after my internship and spent time working at Pioneer Airport, working at Airtronics, flying, and getting ready to move back to college. Today was my first day of classes. I'm looking forward to starting flight lessons again and finishing up my instrument rating. I already miss Oshkosh, too.
