July 2001 I rode in a Beech Sundowner to the annual fly-in fish boil at the Washington Island airport. Washington Island is at the tip of Door County, Wisconsin, where Green Bay opens into Lake Michigan. It was very hot (pushing 90 degrees) and hazy. Normally there are a lot more planes at this fly-in than what you can see here.

By Water or Air
July 2003 This year I went to the Washington Island fly-in in a Cessna 172. There are only two ways to get there: water (boat or ferry) and airplane. Of course I only use the second method! In this photo we're taking off headed generally east, and I am looking towards the tip of the Door County peninsula.
Apostle Islands in Winter
December 26, 2002 I'm in the right seat of a Cirrus SR22 looking at one of the largest islands in the Apostle Islands chain, in northern Wisconsin on Lake Superior.
