Rows and Rows

I rode in the back seat of one of my school's new SOCATA TB-20 Trinidads with a student and his instructor. The student practiced landings at Maquoketa, Iowa. It was fall harvest time in the seemingly endless sea of corn! I took this picture as we were on final approach near the runway.

Trinidad in the Corn

On the same flight I described above, I kept watching the plane's shadow as we came around the pattern each time. This is final approach at Maquoketa.

The photo won first place in the aerial photography category of the 2004 Iowa Aviation Photography Contest sponsored by the Iowa DOT.
