September 8, 2002 This picture is from my first trip to Duluth from Dubuque. It was the longest cross-country I had ever done (5.6 hours total). Above a haze layer and next to some clouds, the view was rewarding.

September 7, 2003 This was the second time I flew a University of Dubuque 172 from Dubuque to Duluth. I needed to use my instrument rating to get out of Superior's airport and head home! I quickly climbed through low clouds. The sun was setting. While turning around to get on course, I saw Duluth Sky Harbor Airport through a hole in the clouds. You can see some hangars and planes. I have walked on that sandy beach and I love it there! That is Lake Superior below.
