Round-Robin in Snow Showers

Snow showers – lots of them not reaching the ground – made it a good day for my student to practice filing an IFR flight plan for a short round-robin. He practiced approaches in Clintonville and Appleton. These pictures give you a sense of how the ceiling and visibility varied.

C182 Sunset

My favorite trusty steed fresh out of annual inspection. Saw the sun set on the quick flight from Brennand Airport back to Appleton. The plane is ready for another year of adventures!

View of the Fox River and Manitowoc

The landscape near Green Bay has that weird between-seasons look now with recent melting. There is more snow down by Manitowoc. Beautiful weather for flying in the SR22. My student was working on instrument approaches.

Bluffs and Devil’s Lake

Here’s a glimpse of Devil’s Lake near Wisconsin Dells. I got to fly all over the place today on a fun cross-country lesson in a Cirrus SR22. I love how the plane is so fast and lets you see such a big chunk of the state in just a couple hours! We flew from Green Bay to Waukesha to Baraboo and back.

More Scenes from Our Well-Worn Sky Trail to the Casino

Made another trip to the casino today. Jim and I were craving the buffet for some reason. We arrived mid-afternoon and flew back after dark.

We’ve made this trip several times now, and it’s always a fun excuse to go flying. Something to do in a relatively short time without breaking the bank. We normally log about an hour 45 minutes of flight time. The casino is right next to the DLL airport and a shuttle picks you up.
