Instrument Rating Stalled

By my own choosing, my instrument training is going nowhere at the moment. There is just too much going on with school and the weather has mostly been bad. I don’t feel that I have enough time or ambition to get that final chunk of studying out of the way in order to pass my stage check and checkride. I know I could pass the flight portion, but I’m not so sure I could recite all the numbers in the oral portion. So I’m not allowing myself to take the stage check until I can really devote the amount of time to this that it deserves. There is no rush to get my rating, because once I have it, it won’t be very useful to me at this time of year. I am concentrating on trying to get a 4.0 GPA and flying has taken a back seat for now. Either I will get my rating sometime in the weeks before semester break or I will stay in town a little bit over break to accomplish the testing. I know I said a long time ago that I’d have my rating soon… well, oops! 🙂
